Rise Into the Highland Morning Sky in a Hot Air Balloon
This summer only, Madarao Kogen Ski Resort is offering a tethered hot air balloon experience. Float gently into the crisp mountain air and take in sweeping views of Madarao Kogen from above. Pets are welcome to join you in the basket.
Event Details
- Dates: Saturday, August 1 – Sunday, August 30, 2026
- Hours: Every morning, 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- Venue: Near the Super Quad lift station, Madarao Kogen Ski Resort (please use Parking Lot No. 8)
- Flight time: About 5–7 minutes per flight (varies with wind conditions)
- Capacity: Up to 7 adults per flight
- Price: Adults (junior high school & up) ¥3,500 / Elementary school ¥2,500 / Toddlers ¥1,000 / Ages 2 & under ¥300 / Pets ¥1,000
- Reservations: Not required — first-come, first-served on site (weather permitting; the pilot decides on the day)
This is a nature-dependent experience. Flights may be unavailable or cut short due to weather or wind conditions on the day. Because flight opportunities are limited, you may be seated together with other guests to fill each flight.
