Paint Hydrangeas at Kogenin Temple | Seasonal Art Workshop in Iiyama

A hands-on workshop at Kōgen-in Temple where participants create Japanese paper artwork inspired by hydrangeas.
Spend a creative morning or afternoon at Kogenin Temple — lovingly known as Iiyama’s “hydrangea temple” — and create your own artwork inspired by its blooming ajisai (hydrangeas). Using stamping techniques and Japanese washi paper, you’ll craft a unique piece that captures the beauty of the season. No art experience needed. First-timers and families are warmly welcome!

Event Details
- Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026
- Sessions:
- 10:00am – 12:00pm — Children & Families (ages 4 and up)
- 1:00pm – 3:00pm — Adults (junior high school age and up)
- Venue: Kogenin Temple (高源院 / Ajisai-dera), 6356 Toyota, Iiyama City, Nagano
- Fee: ¥3,500 per person (includes all materials & one hydrangea flower)
Family discount: ¥3,000 per additional family member
Artwork size: approx. 25 × 24 cm - Capacity: Limited spots per session
