Shin-etsu Trail Guided Tour – Section 1
Explore the 110 km Shin-etsu Trail with a Certified Mountain Guide
This guided tour takes you along Section 1, the starting section of the Shin-etsu Trail, one of Japan’s long-distance hiking trails.
Your guide is a mountain guide certified by the Japan Mountain Guides Association and based at the foot of the Shin-etsu Trail.
Transportation from the meeting point to the trailhead, as well as transportation from the finishing point back to the meeting point, is included.
Route: Approximately 11 km of trekking, including an ascent of Mt. Madarao and a hike to Akaike Pond
Meeting Point: Roadside Station Hana-no-Eki Chikumagawa or JR Iiyama Station
Time: Meet at 8:00 a.m. / Finish at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Price: ¥13,200 per person, including tax
Maximum Group Size: 7 participants
Requirements: Participants must be comfortable with basic mountain hiking.
Please Note:
We ascend Mt. Madarao via BUNA Rock’s original route. This allows us to avoid the monotonous climb through the ski resort and eliminates the need for an out-and-back detour to the summit.
